OCS Fund Transfer

An American citizen may also transfer funds in an emergency via the State Department's Overseas Citizens Services office. The citizen should make a wire transfer payable to the "U.S. Department of State" to :

for :

(recipient's name)
c/o American Consulate General, Kolkata.

This facility is only to be used in cases of emergency and for small amounts (a few hundred dollars). The person transferring the funds should include an additional US$30 to cover State Department charges, if not this will be deducted before payment is made.
