Non-Emergency Services

General Information

Non emergency services are provided during normal business hours, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There are additional fees charged for providing these services after hours or on weekends or holidays. 

Registration

American citizens residing in the Consular district of the American Consulate Kolkata for more than four weeks are encouraged to register with the Consulate. Registration provides proof of citizenship in case of a lost or stolen passport and allows the consulate to contact you in emergencies. A U.S. passport is required for registration. It also enables consular officers to locate an individual if family or friends in the United States inquire about his or her welfare. The U.S. privacy act prevents the Consulate from giving out registered information to any person or organization without the express written consent of the registrant.
